A man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in public in Lincoln. Andrew Jason Roberts, 29, of Winn Street, Lincoln, is also accused of possession of a class A drug. He has been bailed and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on August 17.
A second man, Steven Paul Scrimshaw, 45, of Clasketgate, Lincoln, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker. He has been bailed to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on August 11. The charges were brought after armed police attended Lincoln city centre Friday evening, July 8.
Officers executed a warrant in Clasketgate and a firearm was recovered. People said Clasketgate had been “blocked completely” around Lindum Road on Friday night and photos showed multiple police vehicles parked in Clasketgate, with officers including dog handlers patrolling the area.
According to the Flight Radar tracking website, a Vulcanair P68 light aircraft from the the National Police Air Service was overhead at around 8.20pm after a 19-minute flight. The area covered was east of Lincoln County Hospital and over the city centre.
