Lincoln Central Library is hosting a GLL Literary Foundation event with three acclaimed Lincolnshire children’s authors.
On Saturday 27th September from 6pm join Bethany Walker, Mary Auld and Helen Hancocks for an evening of conversation, creativity and insights.
Hear the stories behind their stories as they take us behind the scenes of their creative processes. Learn how they take a story from first spark to published work and discover how picture books can capture the imagination of all ages.
Accompanying the talk is a fascinating exhibition offering a rare glimpse into the authors creative processes with images of their works from early scribblings to final published illustrations. The exhibition at Lincoln Central Library runs from Monday 15th September until Saturday 4th October during usual library hours and is free to view.
GLL run the Lincolnshire Library Service in partnership with Lincolnshire Country Council.
Nicola Rogers, Partnership Manager for GLL, said:
“We are excited to be hosting an evening with our Lincolnshire GLF children’s authors at Lincoln Central Library. Each of our authors has a very different approach to writing, we are looking forward to hearing all about the creative processes they go through in producing their fantastic books. The Lincoln Central Library Gallery will also be displaying an exhibition, providing a fascinating visual of each author’s work, from conception to production of the finished book.
Tickets cost £7 and include cheese and wine (other light refreshments available). To book your ticket email lincoln.library@gll.org or gainsborough.library@gll.org
